WHAT

You Are Worthy, Incorporated (YAW) is a new organization developed to help youth of color ages 12-24, who self-identify as one or more of the following:

  • Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA),
  • Raped/molestation survivor,
  • Foster care dependent (past or present), and/or
  • Having low self-esteem.

 

SERVICES

  1. Support groups for middle and high school students
    • 12-week curriculum (Fall and Spring)
      • Program for students who identify as LGBTQIA
      • Program for students who have been raped/molested;
      • Program for students who have been in foster care; and
      • Program for students who have low self-esteem.
    • One-on-one mentoring for middle and high school students.
    • 6-week summer program starting June 2018. Applications will be available in April.
  2. Safe Zone Training for parents of color and other adults who want to understand and support LGBTQIA youth of color.
  3. Professional development trainings for teachers and staff.
  4. Community Workshops.
